How Will Quality Be Managed?
• RDS understand the requirement to closely monitor quality not just at handover but during each phase of the works.
• Quality will be managed in accordance with our quality control policy, site operations manual all of which have been audited to conform to ISO 9001-2015
• A benchmarked area will be completed on site and this will be shown to all new inductees as part of the RDS induction indicating the level of quality required.
• RDS also operate a inter site audit policy where at regular intervals during the course of the works a Project Manager from another of our sites will visit and audit the site for quality, health and safety compliance and RDS procedure compliance. A report will be issued to the site PM and RDS Senior Management on findings with corrective
measures required.
• RDS will use Site Audit Pro App for snagging and QA inspections however our staff are well trained in the use of Snag R, Fieldview and numerous other client based sign off software.
• Fire-rated installation will be regularly inspected in accordance with the FIRAS
guidelines.
• RDS-trained FIRAS inspectors will ensure the installation complies with
the license, the specification, and the latest building regulations for
the product.
• Upon completion the client will receive a FIRAS compliance certificate.
• Fire dampers installation will be inspected by the construction manager at regular intervals during the course of the works.
• Inspections shall review access and ensure dampers are installed
correctly and in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
• All fire dampers will be triggered and reset prior to issuing to witness to the client and the Building Control Officer.• Fire dampers installation will be inspected by the construction manager at regular intervals during the course of the works.
How Will Safety Be Managed?
• Prior to starting work each day all operatives will have a daily safe start briefing.
• In additional to the client Induction all operatives will receive a full RDS induction. This will include a detailed explanation of the Work
Package Plan and RAMS.
• Toolbox talks are to be given weekly.
• Health and Safety good practice will be rewarded. Any client award will be matched by RDS.
• Monthly Independent Audits and Senior Manager Audits will be undertaken at regular intervals.
• The RDS Health and Safety Advisor will hold monthly committee meetings with the workforce to coincide with the audit visits.
• Operatives will be provided with all relevant PPE. 5 point PPE will be worn at all times (Hard Hat, Hiviz, Cut 3 Gloves, Safety Glasses, Safety
Boots)
• Specialist PPE such as harnesses, tool tethers and Kevlar gauntlets will be issued where risks and works require them.
• Operatives shall be trained in manual handling, working at heights, Abrasive wheels and facefit as a minimum. PASMA and IPAF trained operatives will be provided as required.
• Operatives shall be required to carry out weekly HAV and Noise assessments.
• All tools, where applicable will be fitted with dust extraction
How Is Progress Monitored?
• RDS work collaboratively with our clients developing a ventilation programme in line with the clients programme utilising Asta Powerproject.
• Progress will be recorded weekly against this programme with progress reports issued fortnightly. Marked up progress drawings will be issued weekly.
• Regular progress meetings are held with our clients
How Will The Effect Of The Work On The Environment Be Managed?
• The RDS factory is within 10 miles of central london.
• Deliveries to rationalised / consolidated where possible
• Sustainable packaging to be used or packaging to be eliminated completely.
• Pallets only to FFC registered.
• Waste disposal to be in accordance with RDS environmental policy and that of the site.
• Labour to live within 30 minutes travel time of the site where possible.
• Waste to be recycled wherever possible.
